Hi all. I received a notification from PayPal that someone sent me an invoice to make a payment of USD 500 for purchasing a anti virus software which I didn't make. Could I just leave it like that with out paying or how do I cancel or report this?

Looks like a scam money request or invoice.

Scammers harvest email addresses and send out those requests hoping some email addresses are linked to paypal accounts and the unsuspecting recipient 'may' pay them not realising they are scams.

If there is a cancel option then cancel it, if not ignore it and hopefully it should time out at some point.

As long as you don't click to pay it then no money should be transferred.

I got the same message twice, once for 499.99 and another for $799.99, but I see no requests for payment in my account. They also say emails from Paypal will always contain your full name, and my name wasn't in the email at all. Thanks for posting this so that I see I'm not the only one.

Don't just cancel it.  Block the account and report it.  If you get another one, then do the same and report it for harassment.

Report them for what?

They sent a 'money request' that you do not have to pay and it times out at 30 days.

It's a phishing scam.  and if you block them and they use a new account, they are circumventing the blocking feature which makes it harassment.

"PayPal is committed to preventing fraudulent emails."

I just got the third Trust Wallet invoice in an hour.  Maybe is is time for PayPal to blacklist Trust Wallet until they ban the perp traffic on their end.

I have received an Estimate for goods which I know nothing about. The Estimate states the transaction will go through If I do nothing. Ive tried contacting Paypal which Is almost Impossible. Is my account compromised. What happens If this estimate goes through? Am I at any risk of losing money from my Bank or Visa, which are both linked. Just how can I contact Paypal and Inform them that I have a problem?
