ebay gift card to verify purhase

somebody said they are sending me 1500 but i need to buy a 50 dollar ebay card to verify the purchase is this scam ????

Did this happen to anyone when they said they wanted to purchase what you were selling on Ebay for a relative and said they would send extra for a gift card then it did the thing where you have to buy it first and email a picture of it. Like it was a email instead of a screenshot of them sending it?

Yea selling a item through eBay I’ve sold and bought many items through many people. Guy named James <removed> messaged me and says he’ll send me 25000 for the item I’m selling, but I’ll have to buy and 400 dollar eBay gift card. So I’m setting here thinking search this up and boom first topic. People is seriously messed up to try and **bleep** people over like this.

I was scam 125 by this one guy who said he was a sugar daddy I was stupid he told me there is a fee for him to send me 1000 and I have to pay it before and I sent the 125 and then I never got the 1000 don’t fall for it there is NO fee and I had 2 other guys trying to scam me to one guy wanted me to buy a 50 dollar eBay gift card for he can send me 5000 I told him no and to **bleep** off lol it’s all a scam I lost 125 but at least it wasn’t more I learn my lesson nooo don’t fall for it it’s a scam and then the same guy message me and wanted me to use cash app and send him 30 dollars for 3000 I blocked him any sugar daddy that ask u for money is a scam

If someone tells u to buy a gift card for them to send money report them and block them cause there probably doing this same thing to a lot of girls it’s sad But true gotta be carful I feel like there more scammers out there now

I was dumb enough to actually send the guy $100 in ebay gift cards. The guy trying to scam me said he was in Germany and that he couldnt get his own giftcards because of being international. His “name” was George Morgan.

Yes it’s a scam! I had some guy today pretending to be a sugar daddy and wanting me to buy a $200 eBay card I exchange for $5000 us. He sent screen shots to show it was legitimate but I caught him out as he mentioned it was morning and then later said he was up all night trying to help me when I questioned him and called <removed> and told him i knew it was a scam and to get lost.

This thread helped me as well! Definitely a scam. John <removed>messaged me on Instagram saying he would send me $4000. He sent me an image of a pending payment for that amount that was contingent upon him receiving a $50 'ebay voucher'. I called him out and sent him pics of this thread and he still didn't quit. BLOCKED. Thank you, PayPal community!!
