When you go to purchase something on paypal you can often see a tab where you can press to add a discount code in the cart section.

I would like to offer a discount to members on my mailing list only is there anyway of sending out a code to people that they can then redeem on my website when paying through paypal?

i used paypal business account.

Thanks

Dee

anyone had any luck with getting an answer on how to set this up, I think you have to add a code to your account somehow, just no idea how!

Hey There, it seems that the option create discounts or offer coupons, is not in PayPal. It is with your Shopping Cart or site providers. You may need to create codes for individual items so that when they reach checkout, the discounts are applied. I would suggest going to our developers Forum. There is a wealth of ideas and answers there from users like you.  This can be found by typing paypaldev.org into the tool bar of your PC/desktop. Hope that helps, and please get back with any updates or tips for other Forum viewers.

@PayPal_barry - Bit confused about this. My shopping cart is provided by PayPal, so surely PayPal are able to control content such as media/discount codes. When I click 'view cart' on my site it goes direct to the PayPal cart. My web provider (Yola) have told me that they have no control over the cart, discount codes, etc.

Can you help further?

I'm new to using Paypal business and was wondering if there is any restriction on selling gift vouchers with, say, a 6month redemption. I want to know if they have any issue with this regarding my business being able to honour the voucher after purchase by the customer.

Thanks

Hi ducati916, I thought you should look at the thread here. The steps provided may offer you some help. In relation to vouchers., you will have to work with your shopping cart provider and ask them can they install anything for you that will allow a voucher previously issued by you, be redeemed against a purchase before checkout on PayPal completes Best of luck.

Hello there. Here's how to add a Donation button to your website. Please let us know if that works for you:

  1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your Business account.
  2. Click 'Merchant Services' near the top of the page.
  3. Click 'Donate' under 'Create Buttons.'
  4. Create and customise your Donation button, then click 'Create Button.'
  5. Click 'Select Code.'
  6. Copy and paste the button code in to your own webpage code.

Every button you create is saved in your PayPal account. To view saved buttons, click 'Merchant Services' and then click 'My Saved Buttons' under 'Create Buttons.'

In 'My Saved Buttons,' you can change most button characteristics and view HTML code. You can also use saved buttons to create new buttons

Hi there

Thanks for you response but i dont need a donate button.

I want the people purchasing from my website to be able to be sent discount codes which then enter on the cart/payment screen.

Thanks
