Problem buying Skype Credit with Paypal

Hi there,

I want to buy Skype credit with PayPal but I get a strange problem.

Everything is fine in Skype, I enter my PayPal account ID and password; the Skype "PayPal" window tells me how much it's going to cost me including the exchange rate. However, when I click "Agree and Continue", the window changes (still a Skype/PayPal window) and displays a message -  "You must log in before you access this page." together with a PayPal login box. If I put my details in again (even though I thought I was already logged in), it all seems fine, but then I get  redirected to a page that says "Sorry, an error occurred after you clicked the last link", a load of things to try, none of which work, and a message that says "Message 3014".

What's happening?

My PayPal account is fine and I use it all the time. I'm sure I have used PayPal in the past to recharge Skype.

Regards,

John Chandler

Hello, there have been no reports of issues with payments to Skype. Could I suggest that you clear your cookies and Cache, and retry the payment after? I am including the options for clearing files on several systems here, as I do not know which one you are on.

Here’s how to delete temporary internet files in Windows Internet Explorer 8:

  1. Open your browser, and then click ‘Safety.’
  2. Click ‘Delete Browsing History.’
  3. Select ‘Temporary Internet Files’ and ‘Cookies,’ and then click ‘Delete.’

Here’s how to delete temporary internet files in Windows Internet Explorer 6 and 7:

  1. Open your browser, and then click ‘Tools.’
  2. Click ‘Delete Browsing History.’
  3. Click ‘Delete files’ next to ‘Temporary Internet Files,’ and then click ‘Yes.’
  4. Click ‘Delete cookies’ next to ‘Cookies,’ and then click ‘Yes.’
  5. Click ‘Close.’

Here’s how to delete temporary internet files in Firefox 3.6:

  1. Open your browser, and then click ‘Tools.’
  2. Click ‘Clear Recent History,’ and then select ‘Everything’ under ‘Time range to clear.’
  3. Select ‘Cache’ and ‘Cookies’ in the ‘Details’ list, and then click ‘Clear Now.’

Here’s how to delete temporary internet files in Firefox 1.5 to 3.0:

  1. Open your browser, and then click ‘Tools.’
  2. Click ‘Options,’ and then click the ‘Privacy’ tab.
  3. Click ‘Show Cookies,’ and then click ‘Remove All Cookies.’
  4. Click ‘Settings,’ and then select ‘Cache.’
  5. Click ‘OK,’ and then click ‘Clear Now.’

Here’s how to delete temporary internet files in Google Chrome:

  1. Open your browser, and then click the ‘Tools’ menu (the icon shaped like a wrench).
  2. Click ‘Options,’ and then click the ‘Under the Hood’ tab.
  3. Click ‘Clear browsing data,’ and then select ‘Empty the cache’ and ‘Delete cookies and other site data.’
  4. Click ‘Clear browsing data.’

Here’s how to delete temporary internet files in Safari 5 for Mac and Windows PC.

On a Mac:

  1. Close any open Safari window.
  2. Click 'Safari,' and then click 'Empty Cache.'
  3. Click 'Empty' in 'Are you sure you want to empty the cache.'

On a Windows PC:

  1. Click 'Edit,' and then click 'Empty Cache.'
  2. Click 'Empty' in 'Are you sure you want to empty the cache.'
  3. Close any open Safari windows.

Please remember that the above instructions relate to your internet browser and not PayPal. We have obtained this information to help you resolve this issue, but we cannot guarantee its absolute accuracy.

For more information about clearing your web browser’s cache and cookies and for deleting temporary internet files, see your browser’s online help section.

All this "there have been no reports of payments to Skype" nonsense needs to disappear.

I have had problems paying Skype with Paypal for about 3 years now and after researching Paypal and Skype know very well there are issues.

There are quite a few threads out there in google land to see on the subject. One of the problems is that if you paid for your mum's/brother's Skype with your Paypal because you happen to use that and later create your own Skype account Paypal or Skype (they blame each other) remembers that you paid to a different Skype account in the past and thinks it could be fraudulent.

I am all for anti-fraud but the refeund/rejection notices need to be more explicit and Skype/Paypal need a method to reassociate Paypal/Skype account/

/end rant/

Hi. I have problems to. When I try to pay with PayPal, I get error. And that is when I try to log on to PayPal. But if I try my other account it's Ok. But I'm not using that account. What to do? This is the error:We're sorry, but we can't send your payment right now. It comes when I try to log in to PayPal from Skype to pay my credit.

I have a similar issue

I have allowed Skype to auto-recharge, but lately I got the message the payment failed.
So I checked on Paypal, and I see a payment to Skype, followed by a refund of the same amount.

I thought, maybe something is wrong with the link between Skype and Paypal, so I removed the payment method in Skype and created a new one, again with Paypal. insite Paypal all works fine, I log in, agree with the payment and I am returned to Skype.

Next thing is that Skype tells me the payment failed............

I tried this a few times and it keeps failing.

I use Paypal already a few years to pay my Skype bills, without a problem.

Currently I am almost losing my subscription due to not paying....

Looking at this thread it is not uncommon.

How can this be solved?
