Shipping label cancelled for no reason

I printed a USPS label yesterday and shipped it today.

I get home this afternoon and I have an email that says " Cancelled shipping label conformation)

Sure enough I go to my account and the label shows cancelled and credited back to me.

Problem is that it's already been dropped at the post office and of coarse it's after 5:00pm

How could this happen and whats going to happen to my package and worse than that how long will it delay my customer receiving his purchase?

I wouldn't worry about it. USPS doesn't have any procedure for stopping mail if the postage payment is reversed. Voids work the other way around, where they stop the refund if the item was delivered.

They may ask for the money back sometime in the future.

Perhaps it was an April Fool's joke.

Thanks for the input, my first thought was a April fools joke but, like I said the money for shipping was credited back to my account.

The package arrived to the customer on time so at least it didn't effect him.

I guess they'll ask for it back some day.
