AMEX on record-attempted eBay purchased was not accepted?

Hi - just joined - my AMEX card has been used in my account for several years - usually when buying online I signed into my PayPal (PP) account and the buyer/site accepts my payment - today on eBay, I tried to pay w/ PP but a credit/debit card was wanted?  Cannot figure out the issue on PayPal online, e.g. a new requirement?  My card expires in two months so should still be fine (used it last weekend for a $500+ purchase).  Not sure what to do at the moment and the auto-jerk auto-helper was on no use to me in leaving a question there.  Any help appreciated.  Dave

Hello @XrayDave,

Welcome to our community help forum!

I am sorry to know that you're facing issues while making a purchase. I understand it would be upsetting! Every time you try to initiate a transaction using PayPal, it goes through a series of filters to determine how much potential risk may be involved. If the system deems a payment to be a risk, the system may temporarily block the payment from going through or limit the payment options. I recommend you to try again at a later date by clearing your cache and cookies from your internet browser or try to use a different internet browser/device.

I hope this helps you!

Bindu
