Automatic transfer is combining transactions

Short version: When I sell a product, PayPal doesn't transfer the funds to my account separately, it nets the funds against something I've purchased and charges me the difference. How can I make it send me funds as a separate transaction?
More detail: I have a biz account that I mostly use to buy merchandise. I'd like to start selling products, so I ran a quick test, and got very confused.
On the same day, I bought a product from XYZ Company for $10 and I sold a product for $7. PayPal netted the amount and basically told my bank that I had bought a product from XYZ Company for $3. So my income (which I need to be able to track separately) has no visibility.
My preference would be to retrieve funds manually, not automatically. My automatic transfer is not enabled, but it does it anyway. Can I make it stop? If not, can I at least make PayPal stop netting transfers with other transactions?
Please let me know if that's unclear. And thanks for your help!

Hello @HMishkoff,
Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum! I can understand it can be a bit concerning when your balance is used first for a transaction. Not to worry! I have a few options you may find useful. First, yes, you can setup automatic transfers of your balance to the eligible funding source of your choice. Here's how: Can I have my balance automatically transferred to my bank account?
The only caveat being the transfer wouldn't occur after each transaction is received. Automatic transfers can initiate daily, twice a week, weekly, twice a month, or monthly.
If you're looking to bypass your balance for each transaction you send, that's an option as well. In your PayPal Wallet, you should see the option for Payment Preferences. From there you can choose an eligible funding source to bypass your balance. However, changing your preferred payment method there won’t affect your automatic payments. You can update your payment preference for those directly on the automatic payment page.
I hope that helps!

Thanks, Jon! I appreciate your lightning-fast response.
A couple of quick questions before I start noodling around to check on the options you suggested:
* If I enable automatic transfers, will PayPal stop "netting out" my transfers against other transactions?
* If I enable automatic transfers, can I still make manual transfers when I feel like it, or will I be forced to stick with the auto-transfer schedule I set up?
Hope those questions make sense, and thanks again!
