Direct Deposit/Routing number related

I recently started a new job and signed up for direct deposit with the current routing/acct number at the time. The last few days I got a new debit card and noticed my routing number changed. Will I still get paid even if it's the old routing number? I get paid on Friday and worried I won't receive it.

PayPal sent me an email on Jan 10 regarding this. Here's what it said:

 

PayPal is updating its Direct Deposit routing number
Nothing to do here. Just letting you know that we're changing our routing number. We'll email you when we make the updates.

What does this update mean?
It simply means PayPal will have a new routing number for your Direct Deposits. Your unique account number will remain the same. You can think of this as PayPal updating its address.

I've never used PayPal Direct Deposit, why am I receiving this email stating that PayPal Direct Deposit has a new routing number?
You're receiving this email because you may have enrolled in PayPal Direct Deposit or were provisioned with Direct Deposit account and routing numbers when you were approved for a PayPal Debit Mastercard® but have never provided the information to an employer or payer. We want to let you know about this change as we hope you may decide to try out PayPal Direct Deposit in the future.

How do I get the new routing number?
You don't need to do anything. We'll automatically update your Direct Deposit info in your PayPal account.

What will happen to any direct deposits I have set up with the existing routing number?
Any existing Direct Deposits you set up with the existing routing number will continue to work. You don't need to do a thing as we automatically update it for you and notify your payer's bank on your behalf. We'll continue to monitor any Direct Deposits to make sure they're made available to your PayPal Balance account. Just make sure you use the new routing number when setting up future Direct Deposits. You're all set.

How Direct Deposit works
Early access depends on when we get payment instructions from the payer. When we get them before the scheduled payment date, your money can be made available up to 2 days sooner. Availability and timing can vary based on the payer and when we get payment instructions.

It can take up to 2 pay cycles for Direct Deposit to begin.

We review each transfer—if there are any issues, such as fraud, it may be delayed, frozen, or removed.

A PayPal Balance account might not receive Direct Deposit payments if it has a limitation.

I was notified yesterday with an email stating I dint have to do anything. Well never received my bonus check like I was supposed to 2/2 or my paycheck for 2/3. So now what am "I not supposed to worry about"??? My employer says they can mail me a check in about 5-7 business days!!!!

Welcome to the community, and thank you for reporting this! I'm sorry to hear that you had not yet received your direct deposit as of the time of your post. My colleagues and I have seen a few other reports of this, but the issues appear to be resolved, indicating that there was a slight delay. I hope that it's landed in your account at this time and I am very sorry for the inconvenience and delay!

Hi, I'm experiencing this today w/ my account. It's Feb. 24th, and I confirmed w/ my payroll dept. that payments were already sent. I'm scheduled for vacation next week. Plz halp.

Did you ever receive your money? I always wake up on payday to my paycheck in my Paypal account. I woke up this morning, and it was not there. I called my employer and they told me it was sent on their end and it was not rejected from Regions bank. When I call Paypal, all they tell me is to call my employer back and have them "run a trace" on the funds. This is ridiculous. I am so **bleep**. I have $0 dollars in my account and want my money now. I have groceries to buy and bills to pay. I am changing my direct deposit to another bank. This is absurd. When did you ever receive your money?

I contacted my employer and gave them the new routing numbers. They assured if I wanted them to issue a paper check by mail. LMAO. Told them, it's payday if my account still empty by time I show up for work, if ya'll can't come up with a better solution, ima walk right back out the door. This was around 6am. Bout 5 mins before I even had the chance to talk to anyone at paypal when they opened. I had my money. Hope this helps.

See-- I called mine, too, but Paypal said our paychecks should still deposit like normal. I am just sick over this.

@PayPal_Olivia -- I received the email that the direct deposit routing number was changing and that direct deposits were not going to be affected. I woke up this morning to zero money in my Paypal account. My check was not directly deposited last night. I am sick over this. I live paycheck to paycheck and need my money. I called Paypal and they can't tell me anything because they don't have it. But, my employer sent it and the bank did not reject it. What is going on??
