I have seen this question asked before, but the "solution" really wasn't a solution. I am in the US, a friend paid me via debit, no credit card used, and I was charged a transaction fee. How do I get this corrected?

The funding source they used is irrelevant if they logged in to their paypal account to pay you.
The important factor is HOW they sent the funds.
If you are selling something and they used the goods/services option then paypal would see you as a seller and you would be charged a fee regardless of account type.
If they were sending you a 'gift' of money with no purchase involved then if they sent the funds using the friends/family option then you would not be charged a fee.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
