How long do transactions remain pending before they are cancelled and monies returned?

When you pay a company then it is often pending or awaiting authorisation until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process the order and capture that payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment and returns back to your funding source.
However sometimes the merchant can void the transaction and so funds are returned earlier.

What happens if it is a friends and family transaction? After I sent money i was informed that she doeant uae that account and now the $55 is in limbo. Help please. This money shouldnt belong to paypal earning interest an leaving me w/out the cash.

Stop blaming paypal when they haven't even received your money yet.

Friends/family payments funded via a bank account are always pending as they are ''echeques.''

Normally if you are purchasing goods paypal credit the seller and they take the wait for the funds to transfer from your bank account.

However as the friends/family option is FREE from a bank account then you take the wait this time.

If it doesn't get SENT then allow 5-7 days and it should go back to your bank account.

That will only happen if the account you are sending it to is CLOSED or LIMITED.

If its open but she just doesn't use it anymore then it may well still complete and your friend will have to access it via help from customer services to send the funds back to you.

Rubbish, its called bank transfer that has to go via ACH in batches and so takes time to process.

If im uncleari appologize. If you dont understand what i am asking, ask to clarify. That being said, the tran is showing as pending, money was possibly sent to wrong inactive customer account. When sitting in this state how long before trans cancelked and money returned. Does this help? Or can someone else step in?
