Paypal Direct Debit changing frequency and how to fully cancel it?

I'm in the UK

So I linked my bank account to Paypal as I sometimes use survey sites that pay for doing surveys (Qmee, panelbase, etc). Paypal set up a monthly Direct Debit for £5.99 a few months ago. I've googled it and this appears to be relatively normal.

I notice in my account that I now have a Seller Tools section (I think that's new to me anyway), I'm guessing I was transferring a few quid from the survey sites to my Paypal, that it's then assumed I have business?

This amount changed in December to £8.99. In January the DD frequency changed to weekly. And I noticed the amount change to £15.99.

Today I noticed the frequency change to daily.

I cancelled the DD in my banking app in January. They've still been taking money in that time. Do I need to actually call my bank for them to fully cancel it on my bank's side? And then after that, contact Paypal themselves?

1. Why has the amount and frequency changed with no knowledge from me? I mean surely for a Direct Debit amount to be changed, the customer has to be informed first?!

2. The transactions don't show in my Paypal account, only in my bank account transactions. So how can I raise a dispute with Paypal when there's no transactions I can highlight? I believe to raise a dispute you have to select a transaction. I have had to transfer money to my Paypal to return my PP balance from the negative figure it was at, to the zero it should normally be.

Thanks.

When you add a bank account to paypal it sets up the direct debit mandate so that paypal can take authorised payments for any purchases you make (or pay your Ebay fees).
No company eg water/electric can take funds from your bank account on a regular basis without that direct debit.
However the amount shown is always the ''last'' transaction / amount that you paid to a seller via paypal.

YOU DO NOT PAY A MONTHLY FEE, ANY FEE IS AUTO DEDUCTED FROM YOUR BUYERS PAYMENT BEFORE THE REMAINDER IS CREDITED TO YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT BALANCE.

Sometimes it does not coincide with the date you made the payment as paypal CREDIT the seller in advance and then paypal wait for the funds to transfer from your bank account, they can 'leave' that account at anytime from a few hours up to a few days later. Also the 'amount' can sometimes not be recognised if you used it as a part-payment with the rest coming from funds already in your paypal balance.

Thanks @kernowlass  .

I wasn't selling anything during this period, I was doing survey sites and withdrawing to Paypal. But I guess as you're using Paypal to make some money, in a sense, so it's fair that Paypal want something out of it.

So how I cancel this DD on Paypal's side? I've cancelled it in my Natwest banking app a few weeks ago but Paypal have been taking the money via my linked bank account, so as said, I've had to pay off my Paypal balance which went into the negatives (by about 20 quid) so had to pay that to set it right again. There is no transaction in my Paypal history that I can dispute, so what to do? Where to go? Is it better to call or is there an option in the resolution centre I can use?

I don't think you have read or understood my post, the money debited on your direct debit would have been from buying transactions and the last payment showing would be the last seller that you paid, hence the amount changes when you pay another seller.

Okay thanks @kernowlass .

So how I ensure that Paypal do not attempt to take payment again?

Well they only take payment when you buy something and fund it from your linked bank account !!
