My payments keep sending as an echeck when they didn't do that before, they were instant and now I have to wait 7 days, why is that?

There are times when you and the seller / recipient take the wait for an echeque to clear and here are some of the reasons...

1. Back up card has expired or needs updating.
2. You have had a recent negative balance or failed bank transfer (so paypal are not going to credit the seller in advance in case it happens again).
3. For some high cost riskier payments / transactions.
4. Friends / family payments *funded from a bank account* as this option is free then its you that takes the wait this time.
5. Clearing a negative balance.

I did have a failed transfer because I got a new bank so does that mean it's going to be like this forever because of that? In which would I have to make a new account now so it doesn't do that?

If you have had a failed bank transfer then yes they may have removed the instant option for you.

Normally if you fund a payment via a bank account paypal will front the payment to the seller and then they will take the wait for the echeque to clear.

However if that fails for any reason then they won't want to risk another failure so make you take the wait from then on.

But if you fund your paypal payments with a debit or credit card instead that will bypass the issue.

Not sure I understand you, you can fund your paypal payments from a linked and confirmed bank account OR debit card OR credit card.

So why not just pay another way via a linked and confirmed debit or credit card?

What fees? Buyers don't pay fees only sellers.

The only time you would be charged a fee is for currency conversion reasons OR to send a friends/family payment funded via a credit card.

Goods/services payments are free to buyers.
