i wanted to pay for something but i was having trouble with my bank account so i tried using my paypal. i transferred money from my bank account to my paypal and i linked the bank account to my paypal. i didnt realise it takes so long to transfer the money so i found another way to pay for what i wanted to buy. now i wanted to cancel this transfer but it is not possible on the app or my website. after speaking with the support she said it was not possible to cancel but when i mentioned that i unlinked my bank account from my paypal, they said that the payment might get cancelled so i was wondering if this is true as i dont want to wait the time for the money to transfer to my paypal then for me to transfer it back. is it true that unlinking my bank account from my paypal will cancel the transfer of money from my bank account to my paypall account.

Doubtful. Never came across a case where unlinking a bank account cancels the topping up of a PayPal account or any other transaction for that matter in mid-process. Unlinking would only block you and PayPal from new transactions with that bank account. You have no choice but to wait for the transfer to complete and then withdraw the money back to your bank account. Just link the bank account back. If you mess about with it, bank account could be blocked by security or account performance becomes spotty.
Rhetorically speaking…if it’s as easy as unlinking the bank account to cancel, when does it cancel? It should cancel already. So I don’t think it’s gonna.
PayPal is very specific on this…that top ups cannot be canceled and you must wait until the funds are transferred and then transfer money back to bank.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
