good and services payment

I recently completed a payment request from a seller and selected "good and services" before making the payment. Is there any way to confirm, or anywhere in my account to confirm, that the transaction is in fact labelled or recorded as "good and services" as opposed to "friends and family?"

With PayPal, you can send money or make a payment to anyone with an email address or mobile number.

Here's how to send money:
1.Click Send & Request at the top of the page.
2.Enter the recipient’s name, PayPal username, email address or mobile number and click Next.
3.Enter the amount, choose the currency, add a note (if needed) and click Continue.
4.Select either "Paying for an item or service" or "Sending to a friend.”
5.Select how you want to pay and click Next.
6.Review the information and click Send Payment Now.

If you’re buying something, select “Paying for an item or service" or "Goods and Services." When you make a purchase, the seller pays a small fee to receive your money.

I hope this helps!

Thanks Harley. My question was if a payment made as “goods & services” is actually recorded or labelled as such for reference after the transaction has been completed. I dont see any evidence of this in my account activity or statements.

Hi @guccililpiggy2,

Thank you for that clarification!

Payments made in a merchant's checkout are shown as "payment" or "purchase", and the transaction details will mention that it's a purchase.

When you use the send money feature, it will say "money sent" regardless of the type of transaction, but there will be a line at the very bottom of the transaction details that says that it is eligible for purchase protection, if it's a Goods and Services payment. However, this appears to only show in the website, and not the mobile app.

Another tip off is if it's a physical item that requires shipping, it will have your address in the details as well. This can be seen on both the website and the mobile app.

I hope this helps!

Olivia
