I do not understand why PAYPAL doesn't have a customer service support wherein you can chat with real live people? Talking to chatbot should be a crime under a consumer's act. When we sign up with Paypal, we had to verify our identities and when we face problems with their services, nobody can respond to our problem with real answers.
They limited the amount to $600 for transfers that do not need an SSN. As an international student in America, I am not entitled to an SSN. so when a money was transferred to my account more than $600, I cannot withdraw it from paypal because I need to have an SSN. Now, how can i withdraw it if I cannot get an SSN????? What will paypal do with my money??? hold it and claim for them??? Is this not a form of stealing??? I tried resolving this issue by calling any numbers possible and sending emails possible and chatting with their chatbots. Yet, no solution was offered. if I had known that paypal's service is this **bleep**... I should have just not opened this account. As soon as I get my money out of Paypal, I will definitely close my account and will forever never use paypal.

I'm sorry to hear you've run into a limit of $600 when receiving and transferring money into your PayPal account. it sounds like the hold you've run into is due to the Backup Withholding and Tax Hold process, is that right? If so, I've pulled some information from a Help Center article you may find useful:
"What if I don't have a tax liability to the US?
If you have received at least $600 USD in payments for goods and services in one calendar year and are not a US tax resident, completing a Certificate of Foreign Status will release your tax ID hold(s) and help you avoid backup withholding when you’re paid.
Note: Certificate of Foreign Status must be renewed every three years."

We had 5000 dollars sent to a supplier but was pulled from wrong account. Paypal kept pulling and racking up insufficient fund charges. Trying to talk to some one was impossible. We sent the payment from the right account and it went fine. When we did talk to some one they said they would stop trying to pull from that account. Next thing we know paypal sent another 5k to the supplier and he now had 10k. paypal is hitting our credit report daily over a 5k negative balance. They told us that would not happen for 90 days and that we had time to get it paid up. My wife sat on hold for 3 hours yesterday and now they wont even answer or talk to us. And they just suspended our suppliers paypal funds in his account under and investigation. No one can help us and we can never talk to a supervisor, when we ask they put us o hold for hours and never answer. I can not wait to never use paypal again when this is over!

Theydo have phone support, though they hide it pretty well. Just go to your browser and put in search:"PayPal Customer Service Phone Line" and you should get the number. They keep you on hold awhile, and bombard you with suggestions to use tools on the app, but you can, in the end, talk to a person.

Never advise folks to use google to get paypals number.
Folks have been scammed that way as scammers put fake numbers for paypal that may come up in a search for ''paypal phone number''.
That's why the only safe way to get paypals number is just to click on help/contact bottom of this page.
Also its not always available, dependent on which country you are in.
Advice is voluntary.
