Cannot manage or cancel pre-approved payments

How do you cancel pre-approve payments now? The 'manage pre approved payments" button I used to be able to use now just redirects to an autopay page advertising things like spotify saying "Manage all your automatic payments in a single place" but there is no place to manage them. It no longer lists any of my pre approved payments ive set up nor any means to edit or cancel them.

This is the page it links to now : https://www.paypal.com/myaccount/autopay/

Screenshots of what i click and what I get:

Thank you

Yes, I've called and chatted with Malaysia (?) several times and they cannot connect me to anyone to file a tech support issue.  My sons live in the Bay area and both know quite a few people in the industry but neither knows anyone at PayPal.  I'm casting my net a little wider to see if other friends in the tech industry know anyone at PayPal to see if an email can be sent to the correct department to get their attention.

The problem was there at least a week ago and I thought they would had enough complaints to bring it to their attention.  I've been with them over 20 years but I may switch everything to Apple Pay if this doesn't get resolved soon.

Yeah, I can be patient, but if a recurring payment slips through before I can cancel it, that will be the end of my relationship with PayPal. This is obvious a case where marketing is driving development.

I've also encountered this problem today.

So troubling...

The funniest thing is, the customer service representative said that because I don't have a pre-approved payment, the list of Automatic payments is missing. It was not until the automatic deduction in the afternoon that the customer service representative reported back and verified the situation, but the problem has not been resolved until now.

Yes, I have the same problem - I can't see any merchants under the 'automatic payments section' - but, when I go to remove the card, Paypal gives me a big fat warning saying that the automatic payments for a whole list of merchants which I can't see on the 'automatic payments page' will be cancelled. This is really frustrating, Paypal goes out of their way to make this process a royal pain, I'm really tired of this crap.

I have the same issue. The only merchants that show up are the 'suggested' ones on the left-hand side of the page. If I click the only one of them I have payments set up for, it takes me to their website, not my payments!

I did manage a workaround though:

  1. Go into 'activity', and find the last transaction for the merchant/company you want to cancel the payments for.
  2. Click to expand the payment information.
  3. Click on the link within this invoice that says "Click to manage XXX payments".
  4. You'll then be taken to the recurring payments page FOR THAT PAYMENT ONLY.
  5. From there you can cancel the payment.
  6. You'll notice that the left-hand sidebar now shows both 'active' and 'inactive' subscriptions options. If you click the 'active' one... it takes you straight back to the messed up page!

This is the only way I've found of being able to cancel unwanted subscriptions / recurring payments.

And as usual PayPal customer service is beyond utterly useless, I have no idea how we can let them know that the portal is borked. Unless either of these work:

Yesterday when I spoke to the woman and gave her two names (one the name of the site and the other the name that the site said would show up on the PP statement)  that I wanted to cancel auto payment to she checked and said she couldn't find either. Of course, this morning I get notice that the auto renewal went through. I was on the fence whether to non-renew so it wasn't a big issue, except for the fact that she specifically said she couldn't find either name on my auto payments list.

I sent an email to both email address suggestions and received a reply that "this email address is no longer active" and suggests that we do the steps we've all already done.  Talk about a slap in the face.

Here's the answer I got today from the chat support.

I request you to please give us some more time to get back to you with the resolution, or you can file a technical support ticket so an engineer is assigned to rectify the issue on your account.

Here's how to submit a ticket to request assistance from PayPal's Merchant Technical Support:

  1. Go to https://www.paypal-support.com and click Log In.
  2. Click Log In with PayPal, or enter your Merchant Technical Support Logins and click Portal Login.
  3. If this is the first time you're using paypal-support.com, click Agree and Connect.
  4. Click Contact us.
  5. Submit your question to our Support Team. Provide the information requested in all the required fields marked with a red asterisk.
  6. We recommend you upload any screenshots of the issue you're experiencing and the source code of the respective page, as this will help the technical department resolve it faster.
  7. Click Submit.

After you submit your ticket, we'll send a confirmation email and assign a technician to help you. The technician will contact you by email and provide you with updates.
