My online purchases using PayPal have wrong recipient name

When making an online purchase and paying by PayPal the recipient name on the order confirmation and delivery address defaults to my wife's name and not mine, despite my never having entered her name anytime when making the purchase nor does her name appear anywhere within my PayPal account details. Also, the bank card connected to my PayPal account is only in my name. Where are my wife's name details coming from and how do I change them?

Could it be a stored address on the website you were using?

I know I and my husband use a website and if we input address it often defaults to the others name.

Thanks Kudos for your support. It doesn’t matter what website I’m purchasing from, my wife’s name always appears as the recipient, even when on websites I’ve never used before. It can only be coming from my PayPal account.

Hi @wsteveb

Thank you for joining the Community and making your first post. I'm sorry for the difficulty that you've experienced with what sounds like a hidden gift address.

@kernowlass is right on target. When you purchase through a merchant's website and enter an address there, it attaches to your account in the background and shows up in any other merchant checkout you use. These addresses can be removed manually by Customer Service

I am sorry for any inconvenience and I hope this is helpful.
