No Accept Button on Pending

Hi, this is my first time using Paypal to receive money, and a friend and I participated in a competition, and we agreed to split the money if either of us won. However, he is trying to send me some of the prize, but when I click on the pending transaction, there is no accept button. It's not that I can't click on it, or that there's an error with it, it is just not there. I am from the US if that helps, but it also says it was sent to a Paypal balance, which I only have a card from a bank on file. Do I need to set that up, and if so, how?

Hello @PuppetM3st3r

Congratulations for your first post in the PayPal Help Community !

I see you're looking to accept the payment sent to your PayPal account. When someone initiates a payment to your PayPal account, you can access the money you receive on your PayPal account home page. You can keep the funds in your balance or choose to transfer to your linked card/bank account. Please verify your PayPal account to access the money in your PayPal account.

As you mentioned that the payment is in pending status, it is possible that the transaction is under review and will be completed in 24-48 hours. You will be updated the completion of the review via email. Also, if the sender sent the payment as an eCheck, it usually takes up to 7 business days to clear, the transaction will show as 'Pending' on your Summary page. You can also check this article for the information on why the payment is pending in your account.

Once the payment gets completed, the funds will be available in your PayPal balance. Here's the article with the information on how to transfer your money from your PayPal balance to you linked bank account/card : How do I get money out of my PayPal account?

I hope the information provided is able to assist with your concerns,

Bindu
