Searching for easiest topping-up my wallet when Trustly service is down.

Can I top-up my balance by sending my money to a friend and then getting them back?

I need 4500 EUR for a single purchase, but my bank account allows transferring only 1500 EUR per day as a maximum config (without further paperwork – and I do not need larger allowance there). PayPal's standard Trustly service is currently out-of-order for my country, it says "Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily deactivate instant top-ups with PayPal in your country.".

Is the easiest workaround to reach 4500 EUR balance by sending 1500 EUR 3 times to my friend's PayPal (my card will be charged 3 times) who will then send me the entire amount back? Will such a top-up happen without fees to anyone?

Hello @Chopok

Welcome to the PayPal Community!

I understand you'd like to send a payment to a friend and have them send it back to you to top up your balance. While this is a possibility, sending money from a card could incur a fee. You can learn more about fees on our Help Center and Fees Page. If you need to add money to your PayPal account, I suggest checking out this Help Center article for the different options available in your country. Sending money back and forth in the manner you've mentioned could also cause a limitation, so I recommend trying to add money instead if you can. You might also be able to contact your card issuer and have them lift the limit on how much you can spend for a one-time purchase.

I hope this helps!

Thank you for all the insights. I found out I overlooked an option of direct debit from the bank account which has no limits within standard set of bank account daily limits. So I did set direct debit as current payment option for online payments and created direct debit permissions on bank account's side. This should achieve the expected result on the next purchase.
