Seller on gumtree replying to wanted ad gives an ebay image?

I said I'd pay in cash for the PlayStation 4 console (and 2 controllers) at a very good price £60, he said meet at the station as he works few min away, even though he said he lives nearby. I asked if I can meet at his home just so I could see it working without any problems, he got irritated and said he can sell to plenty others on gumtree, he's not trying to 'give s**t to anyone'. I said I just want to have some assurance, he said he's religious and we can go for coffee, I said in the time it takes to have coffee, why not walk to his home so I can check. He said no and I msg'd him no offence but you're so insistent maybe you're a scammer, he never replied for few hrs, then I thought if I use Paypal and select payment for goods, personal payments after seeing it (although not seeing it working) then I could definitely get a refund through buyer's protection if it is faulty in any way? He agreed straight away when I suggested paypal.

Thing is I'm sure it's a scam, 1) why would he send an ebay link of an image, without me even asking? I've noticed in the past obvious scammers use this, where it's way too good to be true. 2) He never gave any reason why he doesn't want to meet at his home, just got annoyed and it seems like a fair thing to ask before buying a console, to check it even works. Seems like a minor inconvenience to make a fair honest transaction? 3) He initially replied to my ad with 'is this still available' even though I'm the 1 looking, then when I asked him read 'wanted' he eventually said he's got one for the price I'm asking. But I thought I'm meeting in person, what are the chances he has an actual faulty ps4 with 2 controllers and is using it to scam someone, as he has to actually have it due to collection in person. Need some advice!

Personally I would run a mile.

However if you want to use paypal be aware that you would have 0 paypal buyer protection if you collected the item or had it personally delivered.

Also for any protection (if the seller sent the item trackable in the post) you would need to use the goods/services option and NEVER the friends/family or personal payment option.

Oh that's confusing, as it says in this thread I would have buyer protection?

No, I'm asking as I'm confused, I'm not happy at all with how confusing it is lol, hence the question. Is that thread outdated and why are there multiple people assuring that you're covered by buyer protection in that event, are they scammers posting on here to mislead more and more people so it's easier for them? And even if there is buyer protection, I would need to show video proof of it loading up and something not being right etc as a pic wouldn't necessarily show the problem, would Paypal's process allow that?

BTW I normally try to catch out scammers before getting into a purchase, he said I can come any time to pick it up from the station as he works next to it, I asked him what hours do you work so I can plan when to come and he ignored my question and answered something else. When I asked again he just stopped replying lol, he could tell I knew something wasn't right and was trying to catch him out I guess (I was gonna say I'm only free after his work hrs and say I'll have to come to your home haha).
