Why do I have to link a bank account that is already in my profile?

It's been at least a year since I've transferred money from my PayPal account to my bank account, but I have done it in the past. When I go to do it now, it's asking me to link my bank account with my PayPal account. It shows my bank account already in my wallet, so I'm curious as to why I have to submit my routing and account number again. Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks!

Have you ever had a failed bank transfer or negative balance on your paypal account?
If so then sometimes paypal will block the link and force you to use a card instead (safer for them than echeques).
So if the link between paypal and your bank has been removed due to that reason they may want you to re-add it (if you can).
If that is not the case then your best bet is to ask customer services.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

No, I've never had a failed bank transfer nor had a negative balance in my PayPal account. I do have a message out to customer service though. Thanks for replying.
