dispute refused because item was modified?

so i had a payment of some car parts, a bumper 2 parts of a wing, and some intake vents for my cayman,

the items come and at first glance they look good, however after a test fit the garage notified me the item was very poorly constructed and the fitment was awful, they may as well make a new bumper from scratch because of the poor manufacturing choices made when they did this.

so the wing is mostly fine, there were some minor issues my garage was able to resolve, but the intake and bumper were a no go for sure, they are a danger to other road users if i fit them.

now i posted all the videos chat logs everything i had and the request to return the bumper and intake was rejected because we 'modified the item' but... we didn't.... we literally test-fitted and put it away now im stuck with a big piece of crap which i can't move or fit, its going to be going into a skip that's how bad the item is.

so i guess the question is after the case is closed is there no one to actually update this to them now? it was closed on the 15th though the email was berried and i dont see any updates in my notifications when i sign into paypal which was annoying , as the initial date stated on the case was the 27th i believe for their intervention

Paypal gives you some protection for items ''significantly'' other than as described, they don't get involved in quality issues.

They don't take screenshots / chats etc as evidence either unfortunately as they can be manipulated.

However you have 2 options....

1. Small claims court if its a UK seller.

2. If you funded your paypal payment via a credit card then try your card issuer (they have t and c's as well so a refund is not guaranteed) but worth a shot.
