does removing PayPal as a payment method stop future charges?

I signed up for a 14 day free trial from FreeDiscussions.com, got lazy and did not read the reviews. It turns out they scam people for 100 bucks by not replying to cancellation requests and then charging at the end of the 14 days. I have already sent a cancellation form, but I do not have high hopes for a quick reply.
I've removed paypal as my payment method from the autopay already, but does this stop them totally from charging me?
Thank you

Not always so keep an eye on your automated payments to make sure they don't set up another one.
Glad you have cancelled it with the merchants as well, if you keep proof of that and they charge again reach out to c.s. for an unauthorised transaction claim?

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
