I receive this error whenever I try to make any additional "Pay in 4" payments. I can't use ANY of my saved credit cards (of which I have about 7) to make payments, only my debit card and checking account. I'm using a Windows 11 desktop PC. I've cleared the browser cache, deleted cookies, tried multiple browsers and I'm seeing the same error every time.

Having the exact same problem. Got a number of Pay In 4 plans using the cards I have linked to the account that I have been using fine for years now. Trying to make a couple of payments in advance and it’s saying they can’t use the selected payment method right now.
Hope they work it out or they’re not getting paid because I have no other methods to link so it’ll be tough luck for PayPal.

I'm having the same problem it's a big issue, and I'm worried about it I called Paypal and everything and can't get any help with this

Same issue for me in web version. Installed PayPal mobile app and was able to make payments in the app.

I'm glad it's not me then. The work-around of using the app worked until last night. Now it's the same thing. Called support, and they were able to change the auto-pay to the card I wanted, but even if I wanted to pay today, it says my payment method can't be used "Right now".
Wish they'd admit it was a glitch rather than causing all this turmoil

It’s interesting that we are all having the same issue within the same time frame. I like to make my payments in advance. It will let me use other stored cards but I can’t even delete the card attached to the unusable payment method so I can try to add it again as it states that card is linked to current payment plans and can’t be removed at this time. Very frustrating! If more people respond to this post hopefully it will prompt PayPal to identify and resolve this issue quickly!
