"We can't use your default payment method right now."

I receive this error whenever I try to make any additional "Pay in 4" payments. I can't use ANY of my saved credit cards (of which I have about 7) to make payments, only my debit card and checking account. I'm using a Windows 11 desktop PC. I've cleared the browser cache, deleted cookies, tried multiple browsers and I'm seeing the same error every time.

I rang them they can’t give me any reason I can’t pay advance Payments, they said to link my bank account , that can’t be confirmed straight away still I should be able to pay my debt off if I want too. They said I can call and they can do it at there end .. seems a bit sus too me

In the same boat ad everyone else making payments were fine until today now my card is an issue. Had to log into my banking app just to make sure the previous payments I made went through had me thinking my card was compromised at first. Hoping it's just maintenance and will be resolved before my upcoming due dates cause I'm not adding another card just to hope that one works.

Glad to stumble on this as I was having the same error message, never seen this is all the time I have used it.  Also was able to make payments thru the App when I saw the problem last week, but also that method stopped working yesterday.

 

I did try to make a purchase with the Pay in 4, and was able to make a purchase and all my cards were showing available.  Bad glitch to have especially stopping our ability to change the method, but likely we will be the ones penalized for not making our payment on time if it reoccurring fails due to it.  

 

Hope it resolves soon.

I’m having the same issue. They better not charge any late fees. Probably an issue between them and the bank. Someone probably holding out on paying the fees. Never have this problem with Afterpay.

Yup having the same issues with the Paypal App to do an advance payment of my Payin4. I only use the iOS app to do stuff. So might have to log into the desktop version when I get a chance to see if I can do it through that way.

I just saw my Paypal iOS app got updated 2 days ago with the release, so it could be a bug perhaps. Never had an issue until now. Hopefully Paypal fixes it, it’s definitely something major regarding payment integrity. Does anyone have the older app version before 8.65.0 and it’s also not allowing you to advance a payment with a PayPal Payin4 plan?.

Just opened up my Paypal iOS app and tried it today and it’s working again was able to make payment with a card now. It’s working now. Wasn’t yesterday.
