I was sending money to a friend through paypal he received some of the money i sent, but some of it he didn't. the transactions were put on held and then pending. the money has left my bank account and my friend did not recieve the money for the pending transactions. where did my money go and is there a way to make the transaction go through. it was sent as friends and family so i have no way to cancel or do anything with it. paypal help center just gave me an ai that didn't do anything and customer service hasnt answered at all. i want to figure out where my money is and why my friend can't recieve the money...
any help with this would be greatly appreciated, im just trying to send my friend some money..

ok then it sounds as if paypal are reviewing the transaction, normally takes 24-48 hours.
They often do that for friends/family payments to make sure that they are not being used instead of goods/services for payments for purchasing items or a service against paypal rules.

What does it say on the transaction in your paypal account?
Is it pending / unclaimed / cancel option / sent ?
Is there a clearance date at all?

Hey, I've been in your situation before. It's going to take 21 days, no doubt. Sometimes it's just a mix-up where the sender accidentally sends it as a merchant payment or the receiver sets up their account that way. The receiver can simply reach out to PayPal to get things sorted out. I went through the same thing a couple of months ago when I was sending money to a friend overseas. He accidentally set up a new account as a merchant instead of a personal one. I sent the money as a friend and family, but it ended up on hold. My friend had to contact PayPal to fix it, but the good news is that he got his money the next day. He did have to make some changes to his account though. So just assure your receiver that it's a fixable issue and they'll get their money soon!

PayPal don't credit friend's/family payments from bank accounts in advance like they do when you pay a seller.
So it would go as an echeque and take 5-7 days to clear.
