Iban has to be 20 digits long

Hey guys, my name is Tim andI was just setting up my paypal when i discovered an issue. The issue that i’m facing is that i am currently in Austria and will be moving to germany so i set up a german bank account for myself meaning i have a german iban. The problem is when i want to add a bank to my wallet the message that i get is: “Your IBAN should be 20 digits long.” so i counted my iban and it is in fact 20 digits long… I’m kinda lost because i really don’t know how paypal works. I would appreciate any help I can get and thank you for reading this post. P.S. I tried it with DE in front of the IBAN and without DE but it gives me the same error message :/.

You have to open a Germany PayPal account to enter a German IBAN. PayPal accounts are country specific. You will have to close the paypal account you currently have when you move abroad. It’s best to close the Austria account before you leave Austria as you’ll have a tough time logging in to it from Germany.
