Visa card not accepted as 3d validation failed.

On Wednesday My 11th I attempted to link my new Visa Card to my PayPal account. I received an error message saying “We couldn’t confirm that you’re the owner of this card. I used both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge with the same result.

The URL shown on the page included: myaccount/money/cards/CC-7BMWAF3WF66MA/confirmation/error?action=complete_3d_denied

A second attempt resulted in another error message “Your card has been declined.”  I contacted Barclaycard who confirmed, by text message to the mobile associated with my PayPal account, that the 3D validation information associated with the card was correct. The card was successfully used for contactless transactions on the 11th and the 13th of May. I spoke with a customer service agent on Saturday (14th) and she connected me to PayPal's Technical Support Team in the Philippines. The agent there was unable to assist at that time and said that I would receive a phone call to my mobile. That has not yet happened. Can you please assist?

Thank you in advance.

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones when available (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
Or
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.
It's: https://www.facebook.com/PayPal and @AskPayPal for Twitter.

Thank you kernowlass.

I will try the Facebook option.

I was disappointed that, after managing to speak to real people, the promised phone call did not happen.

Fingers crossed re: Facebook!

Hi kernowlass.

That was not an unqualified success! The 'agent' on Facebook obviously did not read my message and asked me questions, the answers to which were in my original request!

It seems that, when the tech Support agent said that they would call me back on my mobile, I should not assume it would be on that day (Saturday) nor Sunday as it was the weekend!!!; nor should I expect a call today but that they may call tomorrow (Tuesday)!!!

This is not the level of support I was expecting. My account has been in limbo since Wednesday last week and PayPal do not seem to be bothered by that.

Thanks for your help though!
