can any "Giftcard with balance" be added, or only credit/debit cards?

Here’s info on how prepaid gift cards can be used with PayPal:

Note: some prepaid cards’ performance can be a hit or miss though.

I just read (a lot) in your link. Still: no idea WHERE to go to be able to add 4 AMEX giftcards of $200 each, to my Paypal? My ultimate objective is to pay $800 to furniture store, who doesn't accept more than two cards at checkout. I need to combine balances of 4 giftcards. TIA

seems impossible to achieve what I need?? There is an old reply to someone's question:

"You cannot add money to a PayPal balance using a card. You can link the cards to your PayPal account an use them when sending payments. Regrettably, you would need to send the exact amounts (or less) that the card holds. You cannot split payments between multiple payment methods.
