link bank account

Simply trying to link my Marcus Goldman Sax account has turned into a nightmare. It asks for the email and password, then it sees the account, I click on the box for the correct account at Marcus,,then it brings up a error screen that says I got to call Paypal. Well I did this 5 times, everyone had a diffferent story, and one promised someone would call me within 24hr to resolve what ever issue is going on. I literally have 6 hours invested in trying to link this account, Paypal people just have me try to link over and over again to no avail.  It is very apparent that begging for help and escalation does not work.  In the meantime I entered my private info of my Marcus account and password  they now have on file!!!!  I feel abused.

Hello @joncor

Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to reach out via our Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear you've run into some road-blocks adding your bank to your PayPal account. While PayPal can use your bank's login information to link your bank account, that information is not stored on our system. I hope that puts your mind at ease a bit. In regard to the main concern, linking your bank, there's not much I'd be able to recommend that our Support Teams most likely haven't already mentioned. I might recommend trying to add a different bank account or funding source to PayPal. However, here's a few more contact methods to our Customer Support if you'd like to reach out one more time to see if there's any other options they can offer.

Good luck!!!

This post is a few months old now, but I had the same exact problem and today I received an answer.

I too could not connect my Marcus Goldman Sachs account with my Paypal account. I tried connecting to the other from each account... no success.

I called Marcus Goldman Sachs and was told that they do not allow connection with any "prepaid" accounts (Paypal, Red Dot, etc).  Nevermind that these are actually debit accounts, but ok, whatever.  I explained that we Paypal users are their precise targeted market.  They've targeted a market, then refused to serve it. The nice CS lady agreed to send in a product suggestion on my behalf. 🙂

So for anyone else experiencing this, that is the answer.  Marcus does not want to play nice with Paypal.  We and our money are stuck in the middle.
