s it even possible to send crypto to an external wallet, I only get a very general error from paypal even thou i have bitcoin, have a valid bitcoin address to send to, have verified my personal info. Only get some general error message like "cannot do this transaction at this time" what a joke! I;m very experienced and am doing this all correctly and its obvious its a problem within paypal. So all said and done i got ripped off for fees having to sell my bitcoin back to cash and just use my current exchange. Utterly zero help from paypal and zero knowledge from customer service, that means zero chance that you have my business going forward. Thanx for no help with your services

I've been voicing my frustration on this issue as well and have gotten no resolution from PayPal.
This is not good and I advise everyone to file a complaint with the BBB and US Government CFPB.

Yes this problem has been going on for awhile now. Its ridiculous that paypal continues not to acknowledge this problem and plays stupid. This is happening to everyone, its hit or miss and im so tired of it. Im not one for conspiracy theories but i really think paypal is in on it, at this point it is clearly intentional or else theyd acknowledge and fix.

Thank you for contacting PayPal Messaging. I certainly understand your concern.
PayPal's risk model blocked the Crypto transfPayPal'spts. You are receiving declines that you live in the United States with a United States address, and we show that your logins are from a hosting IP from Mexico which is not a geolocation match. This is causing our security system to see your transactions as higher risk. PayPal is a secure site; you do not need a VPN or hosting IP. I would advise you to turn it off so we can establish a consistent login history from you. There is no compensation for our security system doing it in its function. Sorry, you do not feel that way. Sorry for the inconvenience.
You have been given several options and reasons why your transfer is not going through. It is your choice to follow our suggestions or not. If you do not want to follow our tips, we can no longer move forward.

Currently going through the same exact thing. So far I have been given 3 different excuses on why I can't transfer my crypto. The real reason is by transferring it to an external wallet, they get nothing. They have been trying to convince me to just sell it so that they can collect the fees for selling. I will never use paypal again after. I have been with them since probably 2008. I think I am going to sue them in small claims court over this. I am going to crusade every chance that I get to make sure no one ever uses them again. They have been thieves since they have been a company

Same issue as everyone else is having. Pretty basic use of Bitcoin, sending funds to a merchant, failed for me and apparently everyone else.. FOR MONTHS. Rude and annoying but probably misleading and false advertising too. I have accounts on other exchanges, but I TRUSTED PayPal as I have been a customer for many years. You might think that in their offering of a financial service, someone would have at least tested basic functionality.

Same maddening problem, $1000 usd eth purchase. I read this string and threw in the towel within 2 hours of signing up for the crypto function. I opted to bail before I tripped some of the really bad things reported in this post, like lockups, repeated KYC recertifications, etc. Transferred back to usd with only $18 loss in fees, all-in, thanks to favorable exchange. Why they keep this function when it's clearly not ready for prime time, especially when you don't need to be waiving red flags for regulators from the crypto testbeds of a fairly conservative payments app, is beyond me.
