Card linked to a Closed Account.

My card was only used in my old account which I closed because I had a problem. Now I made a new one and I'm trying to add my card it says that it is linked in another account. My old account is closed now though. Any help would be appreciated please.

Did you remove the card from the old account before you closed it?

Why did you need to close an account and then immediately open another?

Greeting kernowlass,

 

I have accidentaly made a personal use paypal account instead of a business one, so I had to close the account. I am new to using PayPal so I had no clue I had to remove my card first from the account before closing it. Is there any way to do that now? I have used the same email for my new account and everything, so there is no way I can get back on that account. And now I can not use my debit card on my new business account.

Why didn't you just upgrade your personal account to a business account instead of closing it?

Anyway as you have already closed it then the only way to possibly get the card removed from it is by contacting customer services.

 

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.

Thank you for the reply, yeah the issue is gone but now it just straight up denies me, tells me something along the lines of "momentarily, we cannot finish this transaction" when I try to put my card info in and finish the process. It's just a huge mess, should've known better. I will try to look into it, but damn, I hope I can contact them and sort it out.

@IamDoru1, thanks for stopping by our Community! I'm sorry to hear you've run into some difficulty adding a card onto your PayPal account. Thank you for providing that screenshot of the error you're seeing. Based on that decline message, I'd recommend reaching out to your bank or card company to see if they can provide any insight as to why that's being declined.

I have closed my PayPal account without removing the card details. Now I have opened a new account but I can't link my card to the new account.
