I am trying to link my bank account to my PayPal

I cannot seem to link my bank account to PayPal , I have copied and pasted my bank account number into PayPal and tried with removing the dash in between numbers but it keeps telling my account is incorrect and to check it. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Currently I only have a card linked to PayPal, I have not yet done a bank account so there is nothing to remove there

Hi, I have tried all you have suggested and have tried to call the help line, the call option is not working and have tried multiple times. Is there any way of having someone contact me?
