I think I lost my dads crypto

my father passed away in september and he had a number of recurring payments going thru paypal that were suspicious so I closed his account. tonight I found emails that he had bought a decent amount of bitcoin and ethereum in 2021. Is there anyway to find out what happened to it or if it's still there? can I ever get it back?

You wouldn't be able to close a paypal account with a positive or negative balance.
