unable to link my USAA account

I can’t pay my bill because PayPal won’t allow me to link my bank account. This is a nightmare. Now I’m late and can’t seem to figure out why USAA isn’t acceptable.

kernowlass - here's the answer you asked for.

USAA is an online bank based in San Antonio, TX.  I don't know if it has a walk-in location anywhere.

Its primary function is to provide banking and other services to members of the US military, worldwide.

It is my bank, and I'd like to link to it, but I haven't found it in the list of banks PayPal works with.

Paypal does not support online / virtual banks
Whilst you can sometimes add an account it wouldn't work properly and Paypal advise you against trying.
If you do succeed then Paypal wouldn't be responsible for any missing funds to or from that virtual / digital bank account.

Found this thread while trying to link USAA. As BrookLG said…USAA is a large bank that serves military/veterans. In fact, it is a Very Large bank that also deals in insurance, investment & retirement to 13.5+ million members worldwide. Yes it does have walk in locations as I walked in the San Antonio location when I joined. I was advised USAA used to have a DFW location prior to covid 😞 I’m also very frustrated & disappointed it appears I cannot link with PayPal. Since USAA is obviously not an “online / virtual bank”, I’m confused why such a large institution is unlinkable. For now, I linked my USAA with Zelle and have had no issues. Hopefully things will change as I do prefer PayPal.

This is an older thread, but I'm also experiencing a similar issue. I've had Paypal linked to my USAA checking account for years without any issue (including several recent eBay purchases showing pending in my USAA account).  I experienced a denied payment this week and checked my account to see that USAA (sometimes called "USAA FSB" or "United Services Automobile Association Federal Savings Bank") has disappeared entirely as an option.  Adding the Routing and Account Numbers manually also gets denied by the system with an error.  I can confirm that USAA is not an "online-only" bank like many of the modern ones. It is a well-respected financial institution that has been around for over a hundred years.
