Anyone use Buyers protection outside of Paypal and get refunded?

I am looking buying a $1300 item that is electronic.  I would buy through the goods and services.  Am I guaranteed refund if seller sent a broken item or did not send it?

I am wondering if anyone has had to use a claim and got there money back from a seller outside of Ebay?

There are NO guarantees with internet selling except the very limited protection offered by PayPal.

You have pretty good protection of something not received.  If there is no tracking to show delviery, then PayPal will refund.   That's about all you can count it.  PayPal does not guarantee you will receive the right item or a working item.  You need to trust the seller for that.  So, make sure you have full confidence in the honesty and trustworthiness of the seller.  Don't count on PayPal to protect you against bad buyer judgement.

If what you received is not what you expected you can file a dispute for item SIGNIFICANTLY not as described.  If you win you will have to pay return shipping with tracking to the seller.  Seller can then appeal if the item is not returned as new.

Electronic are high risk of fraud and loss.

If this is an Ebay item but you buy it outside Ebay but use Paypal as a payment method,then you lose Ebay buyer protection but still covered by Paypal buyer protection.

if an item is not as described,Ebay will make the seller pay for return shipping while PAYPAL makes you pay return shipping,but eBAY timeframe is 30 days and Paypal is 180 days like your cc issuer if y ou use your cc as payment via Paypal/

$1300 is a lot of money,compare ,shop around,anything electronic I go to a store like Bestbuy and save myself anguish and headache.
