Sold an item but never got paid

  I sold an item to a buyer last week after saying he paid and sent me a "receipt" i figured it was good to send him the item, the transaction didnt go immediately and he insisted he paid. I sent him a money request and he said he paid but it says its still pending.  I dont know if he didnt pay or if the transication is still pending. Can somebody help me out or give me some clue on what to do, thanks.

Are the funds SHOWING in your paypal balance in the pending section? If so then he is paid.

Are you a new seller? If so click on pending and see if it says anything about a new seller hold.

When i go to activity theres a pending and a completed section. The money request is under pending " Request sent" and "_______  hasnt paid yet" with a the ammount i requested without a "+"

THEN it has not been paid,else you will recieve an email from PAYPAL saying you have cash or you have received payment.

does the receipt buyer show you have Paypal email address like member @ paypal.com .

Does your buyer have a gmail or yahoo account?

Does he speak Nigerian ?

The "receipt" shows my name and my email  and "-" the amount i requested, request recieved from, transaction id, and details and print details, and yes he has a yahoo and no Nigerian.

where did you sell it?

transaction id ,what transaction id,if it is PAYPAL transaction id,it should be in your account.

What is his name?

As Etsy has South African with yahoo email address using stolen card and fake checks to buy ?

there are Nigerians in South Africa using ocidental names !

Didnt sell it anywhere, it was a pair of tickets to festival i couldnt go to, and yes it is a paypal transaction id from the summry or receipt he sent me after he said he paid my request.

Rely on YOUR PayPal account details, not an image sent by someone else.

It looks like the image shows NO PAYMENT.

As long as you didn't ship the item there is no problem.  If you did ship, then it's a lost cause to attempt to recover the funds.

It does not say you have been paid via PAYPAL,ALL IT HAS is a heading saying PAYPAL.

he has a gmail address,the transaction number is not a Paypal transaction number,you did not get a PAYPAL EMAIL notifcation and your money is not in your paypal account.

just move on,and ignore him.
