Adding Scotiabank Debit VISA card PROBLEM

Hello all!

Today I got myself a visa debit card from Scotiabank and decided to put it on paypal. However when I go the add card section and put in the info, it tells me that the bank has not allowed this transaction and to give them a call. I gave Scotiabank a call and they said its all fine their end and that it must be a problem with paypal.

Basically Im trying to add a visa debit card to my account and it wont let me.

Anyone have this issue before?

Suggest that you follow-up with customer support for assistance.  All we can suggest is to make sure that name and billing address associated with the card is the same name and address you used when you setup your PayPall account.

I've had this problem, too. Scotia said it's because their Visa Debit is still new, so apparently there's some processes that need to be done. Checked back on PayPal just now, and it's still not "approved".

I just went through this today. The lady I spoke to said it was because I have a savings account instead of checking so she changed it on the system there saying it is a checking acoount even though it's still savings and the card was added no problem after that.

I have the exact same issue right now. 

Will not let me add it at all. When I phone paypal she tried telling me I needed to wait for the number amount they transfer into your account in order to confirm it, and she wouldnt listen to me when I told her MANY TIMES that I can't even get to that point because my card is not accepted. 

My address is correct, it's my chequeing account the card is associated with and Pay Pal just thinks I havent used the proper steps. It's very frustrating! 

Cant enter a confirmation code when you can't even get the site to accept the card to send the confirmation code. *rolls eyes*

Can you say what Routing number was used in adding the card?
