I'm currently being scammed, but the package is on its way here. (I believe)

Hi,

Trying my best to get in contact with paypal, or even a human, being who knows how to deal with this.

I saw a listing on a public forum for a couple of items going for sale, I contacted the person, then purchased those items.

But something was fishy about him he made a listing which had the stuff I purchased in it, so I made a temporary email, contacted about purchasing the items again, He then attempted to sell the stuff I had JUST PURCHASED a few hours before to my fake account.

He said he has sent the package with those items I purchased. But I don't know what to do. For all I know that package is filled with rubbish, weighing the same as the normal package would.

But worst of all is that I know its coming, I can't request a refund since it hasnt arrived yet, and if its signed for all I can do is ignore it, then make a claim. But I have no idea how that would affect me.

Should I attempt to get paypal involved, should I wait, is it likely I lost my money, should I accept/reject the package if it comes?

But I'm freaking out over this, I dont know what to do in such a situation. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm collecting evidence of course; taking screenshots of his emails, my fake emails to him, etc.

You can file a dispute on paypal for >>>

1. Item not received.........if it does not turn up OR

2. Item received but not as described.........if it turns up and that turns out to be the case.

As to whether you will win a dispute for that is dependent on what information paypal can view of the item that you bought eg an auction description etc  OR the description you wrote of what you expected to receive when you sent payment.

How much evidence does paypal need to make an accurate assessment?

I have screenshots of him attempting to sell those items I have purchased, but that might not be solid enough, judging by the claims of others online.

Thanks.

I can only repeat >>>

Hi,

I've contacted the person regarding the situation, they say that everything I ordered is in the package, but that package hasn't arrived yet.

So if I were to receive the package, can I take a video of me unpacking it for evidence for my claim if my suspicions are true?

If you haven't received the package, file for non receipt.  Simple.

Well I'm trying to help him out as well.

He's sent a package he says. But this might be a legitimate claim.

what is the name of the venue where the seller listed his items?

Sometimes the venue will intervene ,like Ebay /Rubylane/Bonanza.

You can refuse the package,as long as you dont open it,just tell the postman you refuse, but on some venue like Ebay, refusing a package will void your buyer protection.

RUBYLANE will make all its sellers to accept returns.

You dont really know you have been scammed, until you open the package, but if the invoice is properly labeled,it would be a  case of item not as described.

I recently filed a case of item not as described, the seller made up a Paypal invoice of 4 items,I found only 3 and 2 are not as described so I asked for a partial refund and won,I did not even upload pictures, just give an explantion why I am disputing

It is not unusual for a seller to have more than one copy available, many of the items are found in storage or liquidation sales or a local fleamarket where there is more where it comes from.

you dont know until you receive the package and look at the items.

as for taking video, you can take them, not neccessarily video, pictures would do.

Paypal would be fair, returnthe items, you get your money back and he gets his merchandise back, but you have to pay return shipping
