Buyer wants to use pay pal to buy my truck

Hey there,

The person that wants to buy my truck wants to use pay pal.....I have never sold anything like this before using pay pal and i  a little nervous about it. First thing I will ask...Should I be nervous and how do I know when the payment comes in to my account that it is legit...Basically what I am thinking is this a potential scam. Any insight would be helpful.

Hello everyone!

I can certainly understand your reticence - vehicle sales are often for large amounts, and it only makes sense to be cautious.  I'd recommend starting out here and reading through some of these examples to see if anything sounds familiar.

Hi I Got a very similar email a guy wants to buy my truck he wants to pay the $18000 through Pay Pal. He claims he is an oceanographer and is restricted to using only email and wants my Pay Pal account info. Here are the last 2 emails he sent do they look familiar?

Thank you, i will take the offer, Due to the nature of my work, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert and i will like to proceed with the payment, i will need your paypal email account and the name registered with it. please i will like you to include your address so that the transport agent can be setting up the pickup process.

After this email I wrote back and asked if he was still interested and this is his reply

as i have said earlier, i will be paying you through paypal and i will also be paying their surcharge fee....... you have already set up an account with paypal, pls do let me have the paypal email and name registered with it.... just to be sure of where the fund is going

This is obviously a scam be ware
