Password acceptable symbols

In changing my password I included, as encouraged to do,some 'Symbols', but was then told I couldn't use 'Accents'.Does anyone know what these Accents are that are not allowed.

Tips for password characters, suggest staying the categories shown below:
A, B, C
Lowercase letters
a, b, c
Numbers
0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Symbols found on the keyboard (all keyboard characters not defined as letters or numerals) and spaces
` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ - + = { } [ ] \ | : ; " ' < > , . ? /

I just tried to put in a new password with spaces but message comes up to say spaces are not allowed. I heard recently that this was one way of making a password, perhaps marginally, harder to crack!
I would have thought paypal would want every degree of extra security!
I note from this last response that spaces are acceptable, but it seems this is not actually the case.

I have just tried about 5 new passwords and each time I am told "Don't use accents in passwords". And yet the page for entering anew password specifically says "use upper case and lower case letters, numbers and symbols" and does not say there are any symbols that are not allowed. Please PayPal, it takes a long time to invent a new password. It is really annoying to try to invent a secure password without knowing what symbols are or are not allowed, and then to be told AFTERWARDS "Sorry, your password includes a symbol that is not allowed but we won't tell you which one." The mere statement "Don't use accents in passwords" is not much help - the term "accents" is hardly a word with a standard recognised definition.
Come on PayPal, just make it simple for us by listing what symbols are allowed or not allowed on the page where we enter our password - not on the rejection page, after we have spent so long inventing and entering a new password.
