Link to receive gifts

Hi all,

I have set up a PayPal account so that wedding guests can make a donation towards our honeymoon and was wondering how to get guests to pay? We have a website that links can be placed on and I have tried to create donation links and while these work, they charge the PayPal fees. As these transactions are genuine personal gifts, we shouldn't be paying any fees. Is there anyway to create such a link without incurring fees, or is the only way to direct people to the PayPal website and to send a payment from there?

When your guests use the send money  option there are 2 tabs, one is marked personal and is lighter in colour so often not spotted.

Click on that and select gift option.

Now the only thing you have to remember is that there will be no charges AS LONG as they send funds already in their paypal account (takes a few days to upload funds from a bank account) OR they send an echeque which is payment from their bank account.

HOWEVER if they fund it with a debit card attached to that bank account OR a c.c. then charges apply.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, people can be tol to do this, but can a payment link be place on the website which choses this option automatically for the visitor and takes them to a payment page, like this:
