Resolution Center goes to Ebay

I won an item on ebay and the item I received was not as described.  I contacted the seller and he/she refuses to accept a return so I went Paypal's resolution center, entered the transaction ID, and it took me directly to ebay's resolution center to open a case.  I opened a case with ebay that's escalated and being reviewed for a decision.  If it's not in my favor, does Paypal have a separate resolution process?

iI/m not sure why it took you to ebay to make a dispute.  I know ebay was in the process of handling all ebay disputes.

If you do not win the dispute you can not fie with Paypal, it's either one not both.

BUT, if you do lose and you funded the paypal payment with your credit card or branded debit card, you can possible file a chargeback through them

ebay has been handling all disputes arising out of ebay purchases for about a year now.

thanks for the info. so as an extra level of protection, i should pay with visa card so i'm covered by them too?

I don't know if it is good or bad to now go to ebay. I hope it works out . I recently charged 270.00 to mine for a projector...and it only projects in black and white.Dispute. I will see what happens. I used my card.

Then again, the only time I had a paypal dispute... for 250.00, I only got 40.00 back...because the seller didn't have money in their account. That was just wrong to do that to me. So maybe ebay resolution will be better. I will see. If ebay doesn't pay me... I went to credit card area of paypal... I don't see a button to dispute a charge....?? so don't know how to do it, except in writing to company?? Hope it doesn't come to that.

Yes..you'll get your money..because now ebays forcing sellers,to give them access to thier paypal account-or they can't sell! . Im a buyer/seller-and I had someone claim the same thing  to me..someone opened a dispute against me..saying item not as described. They wanted solid gold..and I never said solid gold anywhere on my listing....first time in 11 years of selling. I lost,even though I have on my ad..ask questions before bidding..all sales final. Sellers now..really have no protection now either "there is no "bidding is a contract"..not that I dont sympathize with you..I bought a camera..and someone sent me fishing lures..! Talk about a joke ..$147. loss..but paypal refunded me..as I took pictures of everything.But ebay went in his favor first..then switched it back to me.. So,I see it happens..but sellers who describe exactly everything..and still get stiffed..I tell ya..ebay emediatley put my money on hold..guilty before proving innocent..and thiers no one to really contact..I'm sick of the loop holes,trying my best and all my work for nothing. so..yes..if they have it in thier  paypal account..garrentee..they will put thier account on hold..until dispute ends.Good luck

Learn to type proper english before rambling on about how you scammed people into thinking they were buying real gold and you were too dumb to include karat count and distribution % in your ads.  Idiot.

Back to topic ... according to ebay's website the 2 biggest differences is (1) eBay resolutions move faster ... it takes 7 to 10 days vs Paypal that can take significantly longer ... although in my experience Paypal resolves pretty quick but I believe they do advertise up to 60 days or some crazy number (2) eBay will cover all payments not just Paypal payments. You obviously can only make a Paypal claim if you paid via Paypal. Paid with Money Order or Check and you were a$sed out. Now any form of payment is covered.

Now for a seller there is the added unfortunate element that disputes/claims made against you go on your record and effect your standing/status from everything to Powerseller to Top Rate seller status. I believe it negatively effects you even if you win your claim or the buyer eventually drops it. Like a previous post of mine noted, it is a Buyer's world.
