Hiya My debit card expired at the endo of October, and NatWest duly sent me a replacement. I'd used it 3 times on eBay for small purchases (nothing over £20) Then, about a fortnight ago, I needed to make a slightly larger purchase (still only £60). I checked out via BIN and entered my PayPal password. "You have insufficient funds on your current payment card to make this purchase. Please enter an alternative card or other payment source"… or something to that effect. I entered the number and strip code from my new card, and hit 'submit' again. Same message. I started to feel slightly queasy, then full-on nauseous. If was skint, then that could only mean one thing: - the DWP had stopped my payments again as they're wont to do (I'm beginning to believe it's some kind of test; "Let's see how many 'goes' it takes to push them over the edge…". If you're in the UK, I'm sure I don't need to explain how sadistic the DWP is). After more than a week with no sleep, I downed 4 bottles of Bulmer's (see PayPal…?! Before you started dicking me around, I'd been dry over 20 YEARS!) and logged into my bank. Not only was I IN CREDIT, but I was so by - for me - a-not-insignificant amount. I've sent at least 6 emails to PayPal in that period, and received nary an auto-reply. So much for "We'll respond within 24hrs"!). Now, you may scoff at me and call me pathetic, or whatever, but I was almost ready to pull the plug. People don't understand WHY I find dealing with finances impossible to the point where I can't even bring myself to check my account periodically, but I'm autistic (amongst other things) it's all part-and-parcel of who I am. Yes, my card is STILL being declined for the aforementioned reason. I've no other card on the account because I automatically delete the expired one before adding the new. Why, suddenly after using it successfully on eBay (and a couple of other places which use PayPal as their preferred payment method) is PayPal **bleep** me…?! Years ago, I had to go via the financial ombudsman to get a block taken off my account (can't recall WHY it was blocked now), but I recall they didn't operate via email, and it was all extremely stressful. I also recall being told that PayPal wasn't signed up to the scheme, and they were helping me 'just because'. So, what do I do…? How do I get PayPal to respond to me…? If the ombudsman isn't an option - what ARE my options…?! No CAB or anything like that round here. I hop this makes sense; I've been told what I say doesn't much of the time, so am beginning to wonder if I'm actually writing English. Maybe that's why PayPal hasn't responded - they don't understand me, either. I'd really LOVE to know what triggered this… Any help…? Thank you SJ
