Hi there Phoneguru,

When a case is opened on the PayPal website, you as the buyer can request a partial refund from your seller in order to have the partial refund issued and the case closed. You may have selected this already when you were opening the case and your seller could have refused the partial refund request.

If this was the case, then your dispute would have been passed on to a member from our claims team so that it could be reviewed and they would make a decision on the outcome of the case. As you and your seller could not come to an amicable agreement when the case was initially opened, it isn't possible for us to request another partial refund from your seller for you.

It sounds that when your case was reviewed, it was determined that the best outcome would be for you to return the items that you received back to your seller in order to receive a refund on the original payment that you sent to your seller. If you would like to contact customer services in order to determine if there is anything else you can do, please feel free to do so. As I am unable to see your PayPal account, I can only give you as much general information as possible based on my assumptions on what has happened here.

I hope this information helps,

David.
