Money from Germany to Canada

I have a friend sending me money via paypal from Germany. I need the money ASAP and have never used paypal. i just want confirmation from someone that the money will be in my paypal account as soon as it is sent and then i can transfer it to my bank account? Just making sure there wouldnt be any holds.

Its down to how the payment is SENT to your account.

1. If they send using money > goods / services option then paypal would see you as a seller and apply the new seller hold. They would also charge you a fee.

2. If they send using the send money > family / friends option then you should have the payment instantly with no fee. 

There are however some occasions where friends / family payments are held for reviews but these are normally only 24 hours.

However do not use option 2 for selling as its against paypal rules and can lead to your account being limited and negates your seller protection.

Lastly make sure she sends in a currency that you can accept and withdraw on your paypal account.

However no one can 100% guarantee that paypal won't hold your funds if the payment is large or triggers secuity in some way then its a possibility.
