Can I use PayPal to make Amazon purchases?  Not gift card, just regular purchase.

Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't accept PayPal payments. 

You could pay through Mastercard with the PayPal Business debit card. The Business debit card is directly linked to your PayPal account balance and you can use a linked checking account as a backup funding option in case of a zero PayPal balance.
