If I receive a Payment as a Gift (Friends & Family) , can it be Reversed?

I've not used the Forums before, but would be grateful if a Senior Member on the Forums could offer some help?

I recently received Funds (as a Friend or Family) Style Payment and now the Sender is telling PayPal it was a Mistake or it wasn't sent wit his permission.

Trouble is I have sent an Item to him since I received this payment, despite the Buyer receiving some Goods from me, which were sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day.

This Guy has been a Pain in my Derrière and now he is traying to Claw this Payment Back has Infuriated me!

Can someone advise if I should be worried, as I had thought that Payments sent as a Gift (To Friends & Family) were not covered under any Buyer-Seller Guarantee and as such NO Claim could be filed.

This said, I have received an E-mail from PayPal tonight that says:-

We recently notified you that a payment you received was made without the account holder's permission, or was the result of a transaction error.

The Shyster in this case has received the Relevant Item from me and is now trying to FALSELY say that it was an ERROR!

Am I safe or should I now be WORRIED!

Its against Paypal rules to accept a family / friends payment for selling goods and can lead to your Paypal account being limited.

Paypal do not like sellers that cheat them by using that option to negate paying their fees.

A buyer would not be able to open a Paypal dispute for 'non-receipt' OR 'not as described' as they would have no Paypal buyer protection.

However they can still open an 'unauthorised transaction' OR do a 'chargeback' (if they funded that Paypal payment via their credit card) and you would probably lose as you would have no Paypal seller protection because you accepted payment that way.
