Authorization Failure in Steam

suddenly I cannot buy games from Steam using PayPal. I did receive a new Visa debit card recently, and I understand that PayPal automatically updates the card dates so there is nothing for me to change. I did look, but I cannot find where to do that in PayPal. To buy a game from Steam I now give it my card number and it is happy to complete the transaction that way. Can someone  advise what I need to do please?

Same Problem, I want to use paypal since STEAM keeps double charging me and I have to phone my bank EACH time it happened, which is 3 so far.  I switched over to paypal since it doesn´t happen here.

Suddenly about a couple of months ago my paypal stuff doesn´t work with steam anymore and I have no idea why, just that it wouldn´t authenticate.

I have removed my authentication with steam on paypal and will presumably try and buy something just to see if I can get it to work again.

It´s not the biggest problem I´ll just have to use humblebundle from now on to shop on steam...

I went through different browsers and everything. The only thing that worked was to go to the pre-approved payments management screen (PayPal > Settings > Payments > Manage pre-approved payments), then find Valve Corp and cancel the active subscription. It then let me make my purchase. Sad, because now it's technically a new entry on that screen.

I resolved the same issue by switching to paying via my bank card and  now the option to pay via paypal seems to work normally  again as well..
