Customer issues paying by Debit/Credit Card - confusing sign-in page appears

I have been having ongoing complaints and confusion from our customers (we sell tickets through Ticket Tailor and use Paypal for checkout) about not being able to complete payment using the Debit/Credit Card button.

 

Apparently once the Debit/Credit card button is clicked another screen comes up asking the customer to sign in or create a Paypal account. There is a small, innocuous link down the bottom of the page saying something along the lines of "Complete payment another way". Unfortunately I have only seen this screen myself once and it has not come up for me again (I wish I had taken a screenshot). But this seems to be fishing for more Paypal sign ups from customers who only want to use the Debit/Credit checkout process and not open an account.

 

Since I've been hearing reports of this our sales have dropped significantly and we are having to take more manual payments over the phone. Has anyone else encountered this screen and is there any way of ensuring it doesn't come up for any customers?

I am sorry to hear about the difficulties with the PayPal checkout. I would suggest you to contact our merchant technical support team to get this checked further. You can get help by navigating to MTS page and clicking on "contact support" at the bottom of the page.
